What do students have to say about MBBS in Ukraine

We know that more than these details, there are other things that you would want to know about moving abroad to study. After all it’s a big commitment and involves major changes!

And who better to tell you about it, than some of the students themselves?

Here’s what they have to say:

Food

A big concern for our students is getting healthy, tasty food. The Indian mess services available in all the major university towns in Ukraine ensure that they get it.

A student at Kharkiv National Medical University says, “All the variety we get in India, we get here. The mess infrastructure is quite good, and all of us can sit together and eat like one big extended family!” She adds that there are options for vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and South Indian regional cuisine – so no matter what Indian students need, they get it!

Another student studying at Lviv National Medical University says, “There is an Indian mess here, and an Indian restaurant. We get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For non-vegetarians there is chicken, for vegetarians there is paneer. It’s all very nice.”

Safety

Another big concern is how safe it is for Indian students in Ukraine. In the past, there were conflicts between Ukraine and Russia, which may create some fears among Indian students and their parents. However, the universities were not affected by these events, and in the last several years, things have become much more peaceful.

One Lviv National Medical University student says, “We feel very safe here, as Indians we face no problems like that. Even when we go out at night, we feel safe. The people here have a very helpful nature, and if we need help, they will leave their work and come help us first.”

A few female students at Bukovinian State Medical University also appreciate the hostel facilities. There are separate hostels for boys and girls, with curfew timings, special entry cards, and proper security. The girls feel very safe there, and their parents feel secure about their well-being.

High standards of Education

Indian students who choose to do their MBBS in Ukraine expect a high standard of education – and they expectations are met!

Our contact at Lviv National Medical University adds, “The university is quite strict. We have to attend all the lectures, there’s no possibility of bunking. Whatever we learn on one day, there is a test on the next day and it is scored out of five marks. We have to ensure that we study everything on time. Even though this sounds a little scary, it is actually very good, because we are learning a lot and are going to become good doctors.”

One of the Bukovinian State Medical University students mentions, “A lot of students who come here tend to worry about food and everything. These things are all fine. In the end, the education you get is the main thing and here, you really get the best!”
