1. Entry requirements
The standard academic requirement for entry into a postgraduate programme is a Bachelors degree from a recognised university with a minimum required GPA of 5.0-7.0 or varying depending on the subject, and certain programmes may have additional requirements such as work experience.
English language requirements: ANU accepts the following English tests for admission - 6.5 overall with no band less than 6 in IELTS (Academic), 64 overall with nothing less than 55 in PTE (Academic), 570 in TOEFL paper-based or 80 in TOELF internet-based, and 176 in Cambridge Advanced. Certain courses demand higher or lower scores.
2. Costs and Funding
The annual tuition fee for Masters programmes generally averages at 40-60000 AUD, with similar fees for graduate diploma programmes, and an average of 15-18000 AUD for graduate certificate courses. Additional costs include the Student Services and Amenities Fee and the Overseas Student Health Cover.
Scholarships: ANU has a number of scholarships for international students, most of which are specific to certain subjects or programmes. It also offers the ANU Diversity Scholarship, with 150 awards of 25000 AUD per annum for international citizens of its targeted countries, including India, for a period of 2 years – all eligible applicants are automatically considered for this scholarship, subject to academic merit.
3. Application Timeline
Applications for semester 1 2020 intake are open now and will close on December 15, 2019. Applications for semester 2 2020 will open on November 28, 2019, and close on May 10, 2020.
