Aiming at the development of the next generation of global leadership, the Government of Australia has introduced Australia Awards Scholarships – providing opportunities for higher education at its globally-esteemed institutions to deserving candidates from various partner countries – India numbering one among them.
Starting from 2020, Masters-level scholarships are being offered to graduates with a Bachelor’s degree from selected high-performing Indian institutions, which will cover the minimum period required to complete the chosen programme, including preparatory training.
What do you get out of it?
Through coursework and a program of on-award activities designed to build leadership skills, recipients will develop the know-how required to make advances in their field, and help further India’s partnership with Australia.
The scholarship covers, among other things – return flight-ticket to country of residence, establishment allowance, full tuition fees, health insurance, contribution to living expenses, and the Introductory Academic Program.

- Candidates must be nominated by their institutions. *
- In addition to basic eligibility criteria, Indian candidates must be graduates with qualifications equivalent to an Australian Bachelor’s degree, with sufficient academic background in the proposed study-area, and must meet the specific requirements of the concerned institution.
- If selected for interview, the candidate must achieve a minimum academic IELTS overall score of 6.5 or the equivalent TOEFL or PTE score.
- Post completion of study, the candidate must compulsorily return to India.
