Spotlight on: Central Queensland University

Central Queensland University is Australia’s largest regional-based university, and the only one with a campus in every state! A young university at just 25 years old, CQU offers vocational certificates in subjects such as Hospitality and Travel and Tourism, as well as degree and research programmes in subjects such as Engineering, Information Systems and Technology, and Psychology. With a population of over 9000, 3000 international students representing 140 countries around the world study at CQU.

1. Entry requirements

The standard academic requirement for entry into a postgraduate programme is a Bachelors degree from a recognised university. Certain programmes may have additional requirements such as work experience.

English language requirements: the applicant must have achieved a minimum score of 6 in the IELTS Academic test, or its equivalent in TOEFL, PTE, or OET (i.e. Occupational English Test). Certain courses have higher minimum scores and may not accept TOEFL or PTE.

2. Costs and Funding

The annual tuition fee for a vocational certificate averages at around 8000 AUD with certain courses having higher fees; the fee for Masters Degree or graduate diploma programmes is approximately 27-30000 AUD.

Scholarships: The International Student Scholarship is available to all commencing international students who meet the academic criteria, valued at 20% of the tuition fee for the duration of the course.
