Spotlight on: Deakin University

Deakin University, located in Melbourne, Victoria, ranks among the top 2% best universities worldwide according to THE and QS Global ratings for 2019. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and higher research degree programmes – several of its courses have been ranked among the best in the world, including macromolecular and materials chemistry, environmental science and management, zoology, neurosciences, nutrition and dietetics, and pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences. With a total student population of 40000, Deakin boasts of a 10000-plus international population as well.

1. Entry requirements

The minimum entry requirement for most postgraduate programmes is a Bachelors degree in the same or related subject; certain programmes may require a minimum score or work experience in addition.

English language requirements for Indian students are met by achieving the minimum required score in one of the following internationally-recognised English language tests – IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English or Pearson PTE.

2. Costs and Funding

The annual tuition fee for study commencing in 2020 averages at 29-33000 AUD; certain programmes have higher fees.
