1. Entry requirements

For entry into a postgraduate programme at Trinity College, an applicant requires a 2.1 honours degree from an Irish university or its international equivalent – for graduates from an Indian university, an approximate equivalent would be a score of 65%. Further tests or an interview may be required for certain courses. 

English language requirements: Applicants have to display a high proficiency in English language by achieving minimum scores in one of the following globally-recognised English tests – IELTS Academic, TOEFL, PTE Academic, or Cambridge English. For instance, the minimum score required with IELTS is 6.5 overall.

2. Costs and Funding

The fee structure for the various postgraduate courses offered at Trinity is available at the following link: https://www.tcd.ie/academicregistry/fees-and-payments/assets/world/PG_1920_Fees_%2008.05.pdf. For an indication, a Masters degree in a subject related to English averages at 16000 Euros, 18000 Euros for Psychology and 13000-18000 Euros for Engineering, Mathematics and Science.

Scholarships: There are a number of general as well as international student-specific scholarships on offer at Trinity. The Global Excellence Postgraduate Scholarship awards 3000-5000 Euros as a reduction in annual fees for international students who have been admitted to a postgraduate programme – the scholarship will be assessed based on academic achievement, and evaluation of the applicants’ potential to contribute to the Trinity community, as demonstrated by a written statement as one of the application documents.
