What is OET?
OET stands for Occupational English Training. Specialized professionals like nurses, doctors, and pharmacists opt for this test. It is also an English language proficiency test like the IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE, but is opted by specific professionals. In order to work as certain professionals especially the medical field, individuals need to produce an OET score in several countries. It provides a valid and reliable assessment of all four language skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It also emphasizes communication in healthcare professional settings. Individuals who wish to register and practice in an English-speaking environment take it up.
