Why MBBS in Georgia is a good option after NEET 2020 !
NEET 2020 has just got over, and you must now be anxiously waiting for your results!
This year, over 15 lakh students answered the exam. However, there are only about 80,000 seats in government colleges in India.
So, what happens if you do not get one of these seats? Will you have to pay huge donations for a seat in a private college? Or will you have to give up on your dreams?
The answer is no!
You can get a high-quality education and earn your MBBS degree in Georgia. This country is a great destination for medical education in Eastern Europe. All you need is passing marks in NEET, and you can take up your MBBS in the prestigious Caucasus International University which is considered by students to be among the top universities in the medical field!
About Caucasus International University, Georgia
Caucasus International University or CIU is one of the top universities in Georgia. It is a private university, founded in 1995. It is officially recognized and accredited by:

CIU is located in Tbilisi – the capital of Georgia. Tbilisi is the most vibrant and beautiful city in Georgia. And Caucasus International University is located in its heart!
It is the 2nd best university in Tbilisi, after the State Medical University. The reason why it is the best option for you is that it focuses largely on educating international students. There are already hundreds of students from India studying at CIU!

Frequently Asked Questions
Of course, you will be having a lot of doubts and questions about doing your MBBS in CIU and Georgia. That’s what we are here for! We will try to answer all of your questions, and tell you about the experiences of actual CIU students.
1. Is it expensive to study in Caucasus International University?
CIU is actually one of the most affordable universities in Georgia. At just 5500 USD per year, which is approximately 4 lakhs in rupees, the tuition fee at CIU is very low. If you try to compare this to a private medical university in India, you will see that you are saving lakhs of rupees!
Besides this, you may also want to know how much you will be spending in total to live in Georgia while you study. We spoke to Dhruvi, a first-year student at CIU. She told us, “The monthly fee for the hostel is 150 USD. For the Indian mess it’s another 100 USD. So, the basics are covered with 250 USD a month. Besides that, extra expenses like travel in the city, some shopping all come within 300-310 USD.” She says that Georgia is very pocket-friendly for her and her classmates – and it will be for you too!
2.Can I finish the MBBS in 5 years?
You may come across information online telling you that you can do MBBS in Georgia in 5 years. However, this is not the ideal case you should be looking at. In Caucasus International University, your degree is awarded on a credit-basis. You need to complete 365 credits, for which you should take 6 years fully. Even though it is theoretically possible to finish the course in 5 years, with the level of education, it will be very tough for students to achieve the same.
It is probably for the best that you complete your MBBS within the given structure, and not think about finishing faster.
If you want to know more about what Dhruvi and Subodh have to say about their experience, check out this link.
3.Will I clear NEXT if I study in Caucasus International University?
Till recently, the passing rate of students in the FMGE (which will soon be replaced by NEXT) exam was quite low, and this may be worrying you a little.
However, the scenario for you is very different from earlier. Now, Indian students have to clear NEET to get admission abroad. Before 2019, this was not the case, so mainly low-quality students were going abroad. You will clear NEET before going abroad, therefore you will already have proven that you are a good quality candidate!
Besides, by the time you graduate in 6 years, India will have started the new NEXT exam. Your curriculum at CIU will help you prepare in the right way to crack this exam.
Your chances of clearing NEXT once you graduate are as good as your batchmates who study in India.
4.Is Georgia a nice and safe country?
Not only is Georgia a very beautiful country, but it is also very safe!
As a student at Caucasus International University, you will be living in the big capital city. There are plenty of policemen patrolling to keep people safe throughout the day and night. The students have no issues with their safety even if they go out at night. If you are a girl, your parents may be worried about sending you abroad. But Dhruvi tells us that girls face no problems when it comes to safety in Georgia.
Besides, the people of Georgia are very kind and welcoming. Never be afraid to ask for help – for they will always do their best to help you. They are used to Indian students now, and will know exactly what you need!
5.Will I be able to adjust to living in Georgia?
All young students from India have similar worries before they leave. For the first time in your life, you will have to live away from your home and your parents.
But do not worry! The home-sickness will last barely a day or two. You will soon see that Georgia and Caucasus International University are the perfect “home away from home”!
You will be living along with plenty of other students from different parts of India, so you will always have company. Whether you live in a hostel or in a flat with friends, you will have fun. You will also have a lot of support – after all, who will understand you better than your fellow students.
You will also have easy access to WiFi. Not only will this help you to do your studies, but you can also keep in touch with your family and friends on a daily basis, on WhatsApp, Skype, and all the other apps.
But of course, the biggest question is…
6.What kind of food will I get there?
The answer: food like home!
The Indian mess caters to Indian students and provides all your meals. Your preferences, including vegetarian food will be properly taken care of.
The food is not only tasty but also very affordable and will not be expensive even by Indian standards.
